UK Trade estimates
The latest set of regional trade statistics has been published for the second quarter of 2010. This data is primarily sourced from Customs systems and Intrastat returns.
Exports
- The total value of UK exports for the 12 months to June 2010 was £242,486m, an increase of £9,278m compared to the 12 months ending June 2009. This represents an increase of 4% over the previous year.
- The number of Exporters based in the UK was 49,719 a decrease of 1.9% from the same quarter last year.
Imports
- The total value of UK imports for the 12 months to June 2010 was £328,341m, an increase of £8,282m compared to the 12 months ending June 2009. This represents an increase of 2.6% over the previous year.
- The number of Importers in the totalled 69,937 a decrease of 3.6% from the same quarter last year.
The next release of trade figures will be on 9 December 2010. This will include revised data for 2010 plus a set of new regional trade statistics figures for the third quarter of 2010.
