PAYE Payslips
HMRC have issued a notification in relation to 2008-9 PAYE Payslip booklets. With effect from 30 January 2009, HMRC will no longer be issuing any further booklets (P30BC). The reason for this is due to the ongoing changes to HMRC’s banking arrangements. As we have written previously, HMRC are changing its bankers from the Bank of England and instead will bank with two commercial banks (Royal Bank of Scotland and Citibank). This banking change is being rolled out during 2009.
From 6 March 2009, HRMC will issue a form L30 which includes a single payment slip instead of a Payslip booklet.
HMRC also point out in their update that payments can be made securely online without the need for any payslip. Also, no payment slip is required where no payment is due.
Payslip booklets for 2009-10 will be issued to provide recipients with enough time to meet the first payment date.
