HMRC website moves to GOV.UK
The HMRC website has a new homepage. Since 16 December 2014, the main address for HMRC has been redirected to the GOV.UK portal. This move is in line with the Governments digital strategy that will see the transition of all central government websites to GOV.UK.
However, not all of the content on the HMRC website has moved to GOV.UK, but will continue to be available on the old HMRC website. In addition, many of the links on GOV.UK for more specialist material will continue to take users to the HMRC website. The complete migration of the HMRC site is expected to be finished during 2015.
HMRC guidance on areas including Pay As You Earn (PAYE), Tax Credits, Self Assessment, Child Benefit and VAT, has already moved to GOV.UK. At present, there is no change to HMRC’s existing online services although in the longer term these services are expected to change. Any content that has not been moved because there is thought to be no need for it will remain available on the National Archives Website.
