National Insurance – 2010-11 thresholds
Draft regulations have been published to establish the 2010-11 NIC thresholds as announced at the time of the last Pre-Budget Report. In practice only one change takes effect from 6 April 2010 – the Lower Earnings Limit (LEL) increases by £2 to £97.
The other thresholds remain the same:

The Class 1 and Class 4 NIC’s remain at 11% and 9% respectively. The Class 1 employer rate remains at 12.8% and the additional rate of Class 1 and 4 NIC’s at 1%.
The only other change in national insurance rates for 2010-11 is the special Class 2 rate for volunteer development workers will increase from £4.75 to £4.85 per week.
