‘Basic PAYE tools’ updated version available
HMRC have launched the latest version of the ‘Basic PAYE Tools’ on their website. The latest version of the tools is: 3.1.0.15205 and the new update includes the 2011 Budget changes. Employers should ensure that they are using the latest version. This can be done by selecting the ‘Options’ icon and then the ‘Application Settings’ tab.
Employers using an earlier version of the tools should ensure that they update to the latest version. HMRC also recommend that the option to receive automatic updates is switched on. This will ensure that employers will always be running their payroll using the latest version of the tools.
The ‘Basic PAYE tools’ include the following:
- Employer database on which employers can record employees’ details.
- P11 calculator that will work out and record employees’ tax, national insurance contributions and student loan deductions every pay day with a linked P32 employment payment record.
- A range of other calculators including for example, Statutory Payments – and, new for 2011-12, an Additional Statutory Paternity Pay calculator.
- Interactive forms such as P11D working sheets.
- Learning zone.
