Working Together – New Issue
The latest edition of Working Together has been published by HMRC. This edition covers a significant number of areas across all taxes. The main topics covered are as follows:
- 31 January 2009 – Self Assessment update
- Unique Taxpayer References (UTR) – Details of howto obtain a UTR, notify self employment and UTRs for Partnerships
- Update on place to reenergise the Local Working Together forum where HMRC offices and tax practitioners meet locally to discuss topics of mutual interest
- An explanation of the changes to form 64-8 ‘Authorising your agent’
- An explanation of the telephone security questions when calling HMRC. HMRC had received complaints from practitioners on the amount of time taken to obtain security clearance when calling on behalf of a client. HMRC have now published some guidance as to what to expect when you call and complaint procedures if practitioners are unhappy with the way a call is being handled.
