Training sessions with HMRC
HMRC recently hosted the first ‘Learning Together’ event in London for accountants to gain an overview of the new compliance checks which were introduced on 1 April 2009. The training event will now be rolled out nationwide.
These sessions are intended to provide accountants with an overview of relevant technical changes as well as more information on how HMRC manages compliance checks. This includes those related to Income Tax, Capital Gains Tax, VAT, PAYE, Corporation Tax and the Construction Industry Scheme.
The training is supported by the main professional bodies but is open to all practicing tax professionals regardless of affiliation.
The first sessions will take place during October 2009 and run until March 2010 at locations across England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The full list of venues, dates and times can be accessed online athttp://www.hmrc.gov.uk/agents/lt-events.htm and bookings can be made online or by phone.
There is no charge for attending the half-day training sessions which will run from 1:30pm. Attendees are also invited to a complimentary buffet luncheon from 12.30pm.
