Tax credits renewal reminder
Families and individuals that receive tax credits are reminded to renew their claims upon receipt of the renewal pack currently being mailed by HMRC. The deadline for renewing claims is 31 July 2011. Claimants who do not renew on-time may have their tax credit payments stopped.
Claimants need to carefully check the accuracy of the information in the pack and ensure HMRC know of any changes in circumstances not already reported during the year such as new working hours, new childcare costs or changes in pay.
Claims will be automatically renewed for claimants who received a ‘nil’ award or only the full family element of the child tax credit. However, HMRC must be notified if there are any errors on the award statement.
