An important reminder has been issued by HMRC to businesses with more than 50 employees.
From 6 April 2009, all business which employ more than 50 employees must submit certain PAYE information online. This includes:-
– Form P45 (1) – details of employees leaving
– Form P45 (3) – new employee details
– Form P46 – for employees not in possession of form P45
– Similar information for those in receipt of pension payments
These changes have been implemented to facilitate the faster processing of information by HMRC.
In order to file online, businesses must first register with the online PAYE service. It is recommended that businesses are aware of this new way of filing and that they register in advance of April 2009.
