HMRC’s ‘Working Together’ – New Issue
The September edition of ‘Working Together’ has been published by HMRC. This edition covers a significant number of areas across all taxes relevant to accountants and tax advisers.
The main topics covered are as follows:
- Local Working Together: An update on the forum for HMRC officers, accountants and tax professionals to meet at a local level to discus mutual areas of interest.
- Agent Authorisation: A list of eight ‘top’ tips to ensure faster agent authorisation, including using the latest version of the relevant form and advice not to attach a covering letter and including your agent code (if one has been issued), when writing to HMRC.
- VAT online: A reminder that online submission of VAT returns became compulsory for most businesses for VAT quarters starting on or after 1 April 2010. The issue also includes a reminder of the benefits of registering for the VAT online Agent’s service.
- Toolkits: A number of new toolkits are expected to be released shortly covering the following topics: capital v revenue, losses, VAT Input Tax, directors’ loan accounts, Inheritance Tax and benefits from employment.
