HMRC training sessions
HMRC have launched a further series of its ‘Learning Together’ events which are intended to provide an overview on compliance checks and penalty legislation. The training events are open to all practicing tax professionals and are supported by the main tax institutes and associations.
The events are, according to HMRC, intended to provide information on:
- Understanding how penalties are determined and calculated under the new legislation.
- Exploring the practical implications and discussing the changes with other tax agents and HMRC Officers.
- Learning about situations where ‘nil penalties’ and ‘suspended penalties’ apply.
- Developing and maintaining skills and knowledge as part of a Continuous Professional Development (CPD) plan.
The full list of venues, dates and times can be accessed online at http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/agents/lt-events.htm and bookings can be made using HMRC’s online booking service. There is no charge for attending the half-day training sessions.
