HMRC forms for agents
Back in September 2010, new money saving measures were announced by HMRC which directly impacted the number of different forms HMRC sends to agents and advisers. This move was part of a spending review by HMRC and resulted in a significant reduction in the number of ‘agent copy’ forms sent to agents.
As a result of feedback from agents HMRC has agreed to changes, such that the agent copies of forms P800 – Tax Calculation, and self-assessment forms SA250 and SA251 will be retained for the time being.
Going forward, the main change relates to the withdrawal of the agent copy of the P2 – PAYE Coding Notice from December 2010.
In addition, the SA1000 self-assessment tax returns guide, often known as the ‘Big Book’, will no longer be issued in hard copy form from April 2011.
