Errors in June edition of HMRC’s Employer cd-rom
HMRC have announced that the updated edition of the Employer CD-ROM, which was sent to businesses in June, contains a number of small errors. HMRC have now issued downloadable files for Windows, MAC OS X, MAC OS 9 and Linux to correct the errors. The updated files can be obtained from:

The errors which have been corrected are as follows:
- Net Pay Estimator – The results from the Net Pay Estimator on the updated edition of the CD-ROM are incorrect. The estimated net pay shown only included the deduction for tax and not National Insurance. Businesses can still use the National Insurance Contributions Calculator on the CD-ROM to work out the National Insurance due.
- SSP and SSP2 Calculator – on certain occasions the results on these two calculators are incorrect. Businesses should use the SSP calculator on the HMRC Internet site to ensure that the correct figures are used.
- P11D working sheet 2 – The working sheet to calculate the car benefit on cars with a list price of more than £80.000 gave an incorrect taxable amount of car benefit. The car benefit calculator on the CD-ROM is correct.
