Errors in Employers PAYE booklets
A number of print errors have been discovered in the first batch of 2009-10 PAYE payslip booklets. The booklets are currently being reprinted and reissued.
The errors were as follows:
1. Payslip Booklet issued to an agent did not display the client’s name on the booklet cover. However, the taxpayer’s name is printed on the payslips inside the booklet.
2. The reference printed within the payslip reference box did not show the year ending and month number. For example a reference number for 2009-10 month 01 was shown as: ‘123 PA 00456789’ when ‘123 PA 00456789 1001’ should have been printed.
HMRC confirm that the coding at the bottom of the booklets is correct and that these payslip booklets will still be valid for payments made by post and at the post office or bank.
