Budget 2010 – Gaming Machines
New rates of bingo duty, amusement machine licence duty (AMLD) and gaming duty have been announced. These changes will affect casinos, bingo clubs and anyone who provides a gaming machine for play in the UK.
The changes are as follows:
- A reduction in the rate for bingo duty from 22% to 20%. This change will take effect for accounting periods beginning on or after 29 March 2010.
- An increase in AMLD in line with inflation. This change will have effect for any licence applications received at HMRC accounting centre after 4pm on 26 March 2010.
- An increase in the gross gaming yield (GGY) bandings for gaming duty in line with inflation. These changes will have effect for accounting periods starting on or after 1 April 2010.
